The Neighborhood and Asylum Arts are pleased to present two workshops as part of Shavuot Across Brooklyn, an all-night teaching and learning celebration of receiving Torah. Artist and gallerist Zahar Vaks will demonstrate incorporating edible materials, including clove oil and turmeric, into artworks as a nod to the Bikkurim, the year’s first fruits presented in the temple on Shavuot. Artist Danny Smith, by day The Neighborhood’s Arts and Culture Senior Manager, will lead a dawn workshop on recording sound and art-making as a process of deep listening.
