The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life and Ayin Press invite you to join us for the launch of The Lost Princess– a new children’s book by Jessica Tamar Deutsch.
The Lost Princess is Jessica Tamar Deutsch’s poetic retelling and stunning visual interpretation of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov’s classic tale. This event will feature a reading of the book by the author, a Lost Princess-inspired craft, a bagel brunch, and more!
About THE LOST PRINCESS: When a powerful King banishes his beloved daughter, the entire kingdom is turned upside down. Sensing the King’s deep regret, the Viceroy of the kingdom takes it upon himself to search for the Lost Princess, and reunite the royal family. The ensuing quest takes many mysterious twists and turns, revealing the infinite—and often hidden—potential of yearning, forgiveness, and imagination. Readers of all ages can join the Viceroy on an adventure of transformation and renewal.
About the Author/Illustrator: JESSICA TAMAR DEUTSCH is a New York-based visual artist. She earned her BFA from Parsons, where she created her beloved first book, The Illustrated Pirkei Avot. Deutsch is passionate about creating artworks that renew our relationships with ancient texts, and for years she has created paintings inspired by Nachman’s “The Lost Princess”. She hopes this visual retelling of the story will open readers to new ways of relating with this beloved fable.
