The New Kosher: A Crown Heights Food Tour
Starting outside of the Jewish Children’s Museum, 792 Eastern Parkway
  • Food

Led by Itta Werdiger, this tour will explore the culinary traditions and new hotspots of the Crown Heights kosher food scene. You’ll sample herring and pickles that will remind you of Bubbe’s house, but also see the new world of kosher food: from artisanal croissants to kosher pizzas that will make you think you’re in Italy.

Itta Werdiger is a Brooklyn-based chef and mixologist as well as a mother of four, a community builder, and an entrepreneur. Werdiger has been featured in The Forward, Haaretz, Tablet and Crain’s Business. Previously chef and owner of Mason and Mug, her speakeasy-style supper club The Hester was mentioned in the New Yorker and she developed a potato kugel recipe with the New York Times.

Please let us know if you have any food allergies. All food served will be Kosher and no meat will be served.
This event is one of a series of food tours of the diverse Jewish communities of Brooklyn presented by The Neighborhood in collaboration with The Gefilteria.
