Starting at Avenue U and Ocean Parkway
Led by Sylvia Fallas, lifelong neighborhood resident, chef-educator and food blogger, this tour will explore the main arteries of the Brooklyn Syrian Jewish neighborhood. We will taste our way through the multi-generational shops, while learning about the community’s close knit culture. You’ll learn which bakery has the best pita, where to buy the essential ingredients, and which butcher sells mazza that’s as good as grandma’s. On this tour, you’ll surely fill your stomach and your pantry!
